TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $7,500

in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Estella T. Wimberly v. City of Long Beach, et al.

DISCUSSION

On June 27, 2009, plaintiff tripped and fell on a raised portion of sidewalk located at or near 430 Nebraska Avenue, in the City of Long Beach. Plaintiff suffered a broken hand, as well as soft-tissue back injuries. After extensive discussion, a tentative settlement of $7,500 was reached.

The Economic Development and Finance Committee approved the proposed settlement on May 3, 2011.

Approve recommendation.
