DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with PCN3 Inc., to provide construction services for the Fire Station 14 Workforce Privacy Project (Project).

The Project is at Fire Station 14, located at 5200 East Eliot Street (project location attached). The Project includes tenant improvements that will enhance workforce privacy, including private restrooms and dormitories. The renovations will also improve the working and living conditions of the people serving Fire Station 14 by providing adequate privacy modifications and improving the building configurations and gender accommodations. The construction will also include health and safety improvements, such as abatement of materials containing lead and asbestos; environmental and energy efficiency; and Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compliant improvements which include connecting a path of travel from the public right-of-way and constructing an accessible first floor restroom. The Project will also include the construction of a new exterior workout room.

Due to conflicting information discovered in the original bid specifications, City staff determined it was necessary to rebid the project. The re-bid was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on April 20, 2023, and 102 potential bidders specializing in construction services were notified of the bid opportunity.
