TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,795, offset by the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) to support the 2023 Annual Gala on September 23, 2023; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,795 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

Councilmember Uranga would like to support Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA)  in their mission of supporting diverse cultures and perspectives in the art world. MOLAA is the first and only museum dedicated to the preservation, exhibition, and promotion of modern and contemporary Latin American art.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero June 28, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide funds to the Museum of Latin American Art support the 2023 Annual Gala as written above. The total appropriation increase of $1,795 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Seventh Council District One-Time District Priority funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to have minimal impact on staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on existing Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

ROBERTO URANGA COUNCILMEMBER,

SEVENTH DISTRICT
