TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $850 offset by the Sixth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department, to provide contributions to Cambodia Town Inc. to support the 16th Anniversary Dinner of Cambodia Town Designation; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $850 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
On Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 6pm- 8pm Cambodia Town Inc. (CT) hosted the 16th Anniversary Dinner of Cambodia Town of Long Beach. CT promotes Khmer culture, customs, and traditions to advance the social and economic well-being of low- and moderate-income communities. CT is committed to the values of collaboration, community, culture, diversity, inclusiveness, resiliency, and unity, and creates a thriving and peaceful community by increasing health access, revitalizing neighborhoods, promoting local business, and education youth. During the dinner, CT recognized special honorees who have contributed to the community and will announce this year’s scholarship recipients.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Cambodia Town Inc. to support the 16th Anniversary Dinner of Cambodia Town Designation. The total appropriation increase of $850 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease in appropriation of the Sixth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff time beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
