TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Ninth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to College Square Neighborhood Association in support of the 2023 Annual Back To School Event; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

College Square Neighborhood Association is raising funds to give away school back packs and supplies for the school year 2023-2024. Their purpose and goal is to be able to distribute much needed and appreciated supplies for the 2023-2024 school year. The distribution of these supplies will uplift Long Beach residents in need. These funds will assist to cover the costs of the supplies and event. By donating we will play a vital role in helping them reach this goal.

This matter has been reviewed Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on June 28, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a donation to the College Square Neighborhood Association to support the 2023 Long Beach Disability Pride Celebration. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Ninth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
