DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into an agreement with the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) for software licensing and support to provide the Health and Human Services Department (Health Department) access to the Family Reunification Center (FRC) module of ReddiNet. HASC established the ReddiNet computerized emergency communications network to provide an emergency communications link between participating customers, including public health agencies, EMS, and hospital partners across the state. The Long Beach Fire Department uses ReddiNet to facilitate communication with hospitals, EMS, first responders, and other health care providers, as well as to conduct bed polling and facilitate resource requests, such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and toxicity antidote kits and vaccines.

The Health Department has been tasked with owning, maintaining, and exercising the City’s Family Assistance Center Plan, to be activated in the immediate aftermath of a mass fatality or mass causality incident to assist families with information and services regarding their loved ones.
