TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Fifth Council District One-Time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to St. Mary Medical Center Foundation to support the 26th Annual Easter Walk; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION
Councilwoman Megan Kerr would like to support the mission of the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation by providing a contribution for the 26th Annual Easter Walk fundraiser for their “CARE Center”. The CARE Center supports and provides comprehensive care for those in our community living with HIV. This contribution will support the CARE Center, which provides HIV Treatment to people living with HIV and others directly impacted by the virus. The CARE Center also provides medical care, behavioral health services, food and nutrition, supportive services, oral healthcare, and prevention education to reduce the impact of HIV within Long Beach and beyond. CARE’s model of comprehensive services was one of the first of its kind and serves over 2,000 people every year - regardless of their ability to pay. For more than 30 years, the CARE Center has touched countless lives.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution of $500 to St. Mary Medical Center Foundation “CARE Center” to support the 26th Annual Easter Walk. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Fifth Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department.
