TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $212, offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide support for the Native American Heritage Celebration that occurred on November 1, 2022; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $212 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

On Tuesday, November 1st, 2022, the 4th Council District hosted the annual Native American Heritage celebration and presentation at City Hall. The celebration included food, entertainment, and a cultural educational component. This event was free and open to the public. Supplemental funding is needed to close out final costs related to the event.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on February 9, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide funds to support the Native American Heritage Celebration. The total appropriation increase of $212 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease in appropriation of the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

DARYL SUPERNAW COUNCILMAN,

FOURTH DISTRICT
