TITLE
Recommendation to respectfully request City Council approval of the 2023 State Legislative Agenda as recommended by the State Legislation Committee.
DISCUSSION
Each year, the City Council adopts the State Legislative Agenda, outlining the City’s legislative and funding priorities for the upcoming state legislative session. This document provides policy direction to staff on state issues, allowing the City to take positions on legislative proposals and to work with the City’s state legislative delegates to advance priorities adopted by the City Council.
On February 7, 2023, the State Legislation Committee met, received staff’s recommended changes for the 2023 State Legislative Agenda, and moved to forward staff recommendations, along with one change from the Committee, to the City Council for consideration and adoption.
The draft 2023 State Legislative Agenda is attached for reference, and the Committee’s additional proposed change is described below:

• Committee Motion: Add language related to advocacy for regional funding, support, and resources to address homelessness.

Respectfully Submitted,
ROBERTO URANGA,
CHAIR
