TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $300, offset by the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to US Vets in support of their annual Those Who Served Luncheon; and
Decrease appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $300 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
Annually, US Vets holds the Those Who Served Luncheon in order to honor and remember our veterans’ service and sacrifice. This signature events raises much-needed funds to continue outreach, employment, and housing services to end veteran homelessness in Long Beach. US Vets works to continue bringing awareness to this mission where no man or woman that served our country should be living on the streets. This organization provides crucial support to over 700 previously homeless veterans every day right here in Long Beach. This 15th Annual Honoring Those Who Served Luncheon was held November 4, 2022.
STATEMENT OF URGENCY:
As this event was held November4, 2022 funding is sought as soon as possible.
