TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute a Memorandum of Understanding, and all necessary documents including any subsequent amendments, with the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, for the Long Beach City Attorney’s Office’s use of the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Justice Partner Portal.  (Citywide)

DISCUSSION

City Council approval is requested to authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and all necessary documents including any subsequent amendments, for the City Attorney’s Office’s use of the Los Angeles Superior Court’s (LASC) Justice Partner Portal (JPP). The purpose of the MOU is to memorialize the parties’ understanding with regard to the City Attorney’s access to LASC data and documents (court records) electronically provisioned by LASC to the City Attorney’s Office through the Court’s JPP. Through the MOU and its conditions, the City Attorney’s Office and its authorized employees are granted access to the JPP, free of charge. Either party may terminate the MOU at any time for any reason.
