DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to amend Munis Contract No. 3150000021 with Griffin Pest Management to provide pest control services. Various departments require pest control services at multiple facilities throughout Long Beach. Pest control services are necessary to maintain a high standard of health and sanitation.

Griffin Pest Management is the City of Long Beach’s (City) current pest control vendor. On June 10, 2015, Griffin Pest Management was awarded a contract with the City after a competitive bid process. All funds available under the current contract, which was authorized under City Manager authority in accordance with procurement policies and procedures, have been exhausted. To ensure payment for services rendered, additional funds are required. A new procurement for pest control services has been completed, and contract execution is underway. The newly procured pest control contract with Terminix International will be available once the amended agreement with Griffin Pest Management expires. This request will ensure timely invoice payment and continuity of service during that time.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Erin Weesner-McKinley and Revenue Management Officer Geraldine Alejo on August 19, 2022, and by Purchasing Agent Michelle Wilson on August 12, 2022,.
