TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute a First Amendment to Agreement No. 35882, with the firm Hurrell Cantrall, LLP, to increase the amount by $125,000 for legal services in the matter entitled Christopher Williams vs. City of Long Beach, Case Number 2:19-cv-ODWAFM.

DISCUSSION

The City Council is requested to authorize the City Manager to execute a First Amendment to the agreement with the law firm of Hurrell & Cantrall, LLP for legal services to defend the City of Long Beach in an employment lawsuit entitled Christopher Williams vs. City of Long Beach, Case Number 2:19-cv-ODWAFM. The amendment would authorize an additional $125,000 for litigation expenses incurred through trial, for a total of $425,000.
