DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to amend Contract No. 32100796 with CW Industries, Inc., for providing welding services for the Public Works and Financial Management Departments.

An Invitation to Bid (ITB) FS 21-065 was issued on May 14, 2021, and 29 potential bidders specializing in welding services were notified of the bid opportunity. Of those bidders, five downloaded the ITB via the City of Long Beach’s (City) electronic bid system. The ITB document was made available from the Purchasing Division, located on the 6th floor of City Hall, and the Division’s website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing . A bid announcement was also included in the Purchasing Division’s weekly update of Open Bid Opportunities, which is sent to 38 local, minority-owned, and women-owned business groups. There were two responses received on June 8, 2021. Of those two proposers, none were Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBEs), none were Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBEs), one was certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs), and one was a Long Beach vendor (Local).
