TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,000, offset by the Fifth Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to the following: 1) Partners of Parks, in the amount of $500, to support their Sowing the Seeds Event held on Saturday, September 18, 2021; and 2) Historical Society of Long Beach in the amount of $500 to support their 2021 Cemetery Tour on Saturday, October 30, 2021; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
Councilwoman Stacy Mungo Flanigan would like to support the following annual events and community programming:
· Partners of Parks (www.partnersofparks.org
) annual event, Sowing the Seeds, held on September 18, 2021, in support of their efforts to fulfill community serving parks improvement projects and programs.
· Historical Society of Long Beach () annual event, 25th Annual Historical Cemetery Tour, held on October 30, 2021, in support of historical preservation and collection of Long Beach living history.
This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on August 27, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide donations of $500 each to Partners of Parks and the Historical Society of Long Beach, totaling $1,000, to support their annual events as written above. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department in the amount of $1,000 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Fifth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department.
