DISCUSSION

The Long Beach Police Department (PD) is requesting City Council approval to receive and expend grant funding from the State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) in the amount of $97,500. The grant provides funding for overtime, investigative services, and training to identify and eliminate the crime and public nuisance incidents associated with ABC-licensed establishments and ensure compliance with City and State laws. The grant term is July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Arturo D. Sanchez on August 16, 2021 and by Budget Analysis Officer Greg Sorensen on August 20, 2021.
