TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to accept and expend grant funding from the Port of Long Beach; and
Increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,500 to support the annual Community Concert hosted at Marine Stadium Park, offset by grant revenue received.
DISCUSSION
The annual Community Concert was hosted in Marine Stadium Park on August 1, 2021. These annual summer concerts have become an important tradition for the community in celebrating summer. This is a community focused event that fosters kindness and a sense of neighborliness in a positive way to celebrate the season and bring people outdoors to enjoy our beautiful parks and wonderful weather.
This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on July 29, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests an increase in appropriation to provide funding to the Office of Special Events and Filming for the annual Community Concert. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,500 is offset by grant revenue. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

Event is scheduled for August 1, 2021 and funding shortly after this event is sought.
