TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,000, offset by First Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to Long Beach Home + Living and Roxanne's (Kahlo Creative LLC) to support Flavors of Long Beach; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
As COVID's impact continues to linger, Long Beach Home + Living with the support of Roxanne's has decided to do something to safely help bring some life back to the First District's food scene. Utilizing the beautiful outdoor space available at the Long Beach Scottish Rite, Flavors of Long Beach Festival seeks to uplift the community through drinks, food, and fun while providing a safe opportunity to begin the process of reintroducing outdoor food festivals (on a small scale) and highlighting so many of Long Beach's amazing restaurants.
Flavors of Long Beach will be planning events throughout Long Beach but having a Taco Fest in the First District at the Long Beach Scottish Rite.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
The Flavors of Long Beach begin with Long Beach Taco Fest on May 23 and this funding will help facilitate the planning and organizing.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Long Beach Home + Living and Roxanne's to support Flavors of Long Beach Festival. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,000 will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the First Council District General Fund Group One-time District Priority Funds in the Citywide Activities Department.
