TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit claim for death benefits for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $290,000 plus additional statutory benefits in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for decedent, Lawrence Mulock. 

 

DISCUSSION

Lawrence Mulock, by and through his Widow, Tiffany Mulock, and their children, Richard Mulock and Victoria Mulock have made a claim for death benefits allegedly caused by his employment with the City of Long Beach.  The Economic Development and Finance Committee on March 16, 2021, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award for death benefits by the City and Richard Mulock on behalf of his widow and dependents.

Approve recommendation.
