TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on the actions taken at the Metropolitan Water District Board meeting held on September 15, 2009.
 
DISCUSSION
I wish to bring the following agenda items to the Council's attention:
 
·      Approve committee assignments
·      Chairman's Monthly Activity Report
·      Final report on list of certified assessed valuations for fiscal year 2009/10 and tabulation of assessed valuations, percentage participation, and vote entitlement of member public agencies as of August 19, 2009.  (B&F)
·      Appropriate $1.23 million and authorize: 1) final design of solar generating facility at the Weymouth plant; and 2) preparation of Energy Management Plan (Approp. 15391). (E&O)  (Mailing Separately)
·      Approve entering into five-year Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and AFSCME, Local 1902; the Management and Professional Employees Association; the Association of Confidential Employees; and the Supervisors Association.  [Conference with labor negotiators to be heard in closed session pursuant to Gov. Code Section 54957.6.  Agency representative: Gilbert Ivey. Employee organizations:  The Employee Association of The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California/AFSCME Local 1902; the Management and Professional Employees Association MAPA/AFSCME Chapter 1001; the Association of Confidential Employees; and the Supervisors Association]
·      Effect of subsidence on the California Aqueduct due to Groundwater Pumping in the San Joaquin Valley.  (E&O)
