TITLE
Recommendation to respectfully request City Attorney to draft resolution in support of Medicare for All as recommended by the Federal Legislation Committee.
DISCUSSION
On December 8, 2020, the City Council approved the attached item to refer a resolution in support of Medicare for All to the Federal Legislation Committee for review and consideration. On March 11, 2021, the Federal Legislation Committee approved the item and recommended forwarding consideration to the full City Council. The City’s Federal Legislative Agenda supports legislation, policies and grants that will establish a national health insurance program to provide every resident of the United States with health insurance through an expanded Medicare program, inclusive of improved and comprehensive benefits.
