TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to amend Contract No. 34032 with Specialized Elevator Service, formerly Ascent Elevator Services, Inc., of Santa Fe Springs, CA, for providing elevator repair and maintenance services, to increase the contract amount by $100,000, with a contingency in the amount of $75,000, for a revised total contract amount not to exceed $1,170,000, and extend the term of the contract to June 30, 2021. DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to amend Contract No. 34032 with Specialized Elevator Service, Inc., for elevator repair and maintenance services, to increase the contract amount by $100,000, with a contingency in the amount of $75,000, for a revised total contract amount not to exceed $1,170,000, and extend the term to June 30, 2021.
At its meeting on September 8, 2015, the City Council awarded a contract to Specialized Elevator Services, Inc., as part of the adoption of Specifications No. ITB PW15-136 for as-needed elevator maintenance and repair, in the amount of $600,000. On April 5, 2016, the City Council approved an amendment to increase the contract by $240,000, which expired on July 31, 2019. On July 14, 2020, the City Council approved to amend Contract No. 34032 to increase the contract amount by $155,000 for a revised amount not to exceed $995,000. The current contract expires on December 31, 2020. City Council approval is requested to amend Contract No. 34032 to allow for the completion of the procurement process. It is anticipated a new contract will be presented to the City Council for approval by June 2021.
