TITLE
Recommendation to decrease FY 20 appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,350 to reflect the use of the Ninth Council District One-time District Priority Funds for donations to various organizations.
DISCUSSION
INTRODUCTION:
Throughout Fiscal Year 2019, there were Ninth Council District expenses that provided contributions to various organizations to support specific events or gatherings that served a benefit to the general Long Beach community that should have been funded by one-time District Priority Funds. Attachment A provides a list of these organizations and their events, as well as the donation amount. This recommendation allows these donations to be funded from the Ninth Council District's District Priority Funds or "Divide by Nine" funds that have been allocated to Council Districts by City Council to be spent on eligible onetime uses.
This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager, Grace H. Yoon, on March 6, 2020.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation decreases FY 20 One-time District Priority Funds appropriation in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,350. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
