DISCUSSION
Pacific Gateway currently administers the Long Beach Access, Systems, and Programs for Immigrants (ASPIre) project, approved by the City Council on July 18, 2017. Funded under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), the project is a collaborative, multi-strategic effort aimed at generating deep, meaningful change in our local workforce ecosystem. The goal of the program is to re-envision the way English Language Learners (ELLs) thrive in the local education and workforce world and implement systemic changes.

Under the ASPIre project, Pacific Gateway partners with community organizations and educational institutions to ensure delivery of services and that program goals are met. These partners include Long Beach Adult School, Long Beach City College Adult Education Programs, Centro Community Hispanic Association, and United Cambodian Community. Pacific Gateway requests modifications to some of those project partners’ contract or Blanket Purchase Order to reflect anticipated final expenditure and align with project close out.
