DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Sully-Miller Contracting Company (Sully-Miller), for the construction of the 3rd Street and Broadway Cycle Track Project (Project).

The Project will reconfigure the 1.1-mile bicycle boulevard along 3rd Street and Broadway, between Golden Avenue and Alamitos Avenue (Attachment A). The existing parking-protected bike lanes will be relocated from the left side of the street to the right side with enhanced green road markings at intersections and driveways. The new configuration will provide seamless bike connections with existing and forthcoming bike facilities east of Alamitos Avenue. The Project includes new median bus stop islands, parking meters, striping, and signage.

The bid was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on April 5, 2017, and 4,626 potential bidders specializing in construction services were notified of the bid opportunity.
