DISCUSSION
Bruce D. Golison, Trustee of the Bruce and Margo Golison Trust dated November 3, 1993, as to an undivided 35-1/3 interest; Mark and Jennifer Ann Golison, as Community Property with Right of Survivorship, as to an undivided 35-1/3 interest; and, Jay Golison, a Married Man as His Sole and Separate Property, as to an undivided 29-1/3 interest, as tenants in common, owners of the property at 850 Long Beach Boulevard, are renovating the site. To accommodate the new use, it is necessary that an easement be granted to the City to allow for the installation of a double-check detector valve (Exhibit A). This new line will provide backflow prevention to protect water supplies from contamination. Renovation plans for the site consist of remodeling the existing building to accommodate an adult daycare facility.

City staff conducted a review of affected agencies and there were no objections to the proposed easement. In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Categorical Exemption CE-17-220, was issued for this easement on September 8, 2017. (Exhibit B)

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda T. Vu on April 18, 2018 and by Budget Analysis Officer Julissa José-Murray on April 25, 2018.
