TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute a First Amendment to Agreement No. 33969 with the firm of Richards, Watson & Gershon, for legal services pertaining to matters involving Friendly Village Mobile Home Park (Celestino Acosta et al. v. City of Long Beach et al., Case Number BC591412.)

DISCUSSION

The City Council is requested to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with the firm of Richards, Watson & Gershon for an additional $600,000, for a total of $800,000, in order that they may continue to represent the City's interest in the above-entitled case. This case involves a claim of environmental contamination. We are, however, seeking recovery of our outside counsel fees from various insurance carriers.
