TITLE
Recommendation to receive the application of Apro, LLC, dba United Oil No. 32, for an original application of an Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) License, at 2995 Long Beach Boulevard; determine the application does not serve the public convenience and necessity; and, submit a Public Notice of Protest to ABC on the bases of an over concentration of licenses within the census tract, and a school, park and hospital within 600 feet of the establishment, and licensing the premises would be contrary to Long Beach Zoning Ordinances. (District 7)
DISCUSSION
It is City Council policy to review applications for ABC licenses to determine if a basis for protest against the issuance of the license exists. Given the bases mentioned above, the Police Department recommends a Public Notice of Protest be submitted to ABC.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action is requested on May 24, 2016, to respond to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control by the June 2, 2016 due date.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this recommendation.
