DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Alloy Products Distribution for furnishing and delivering gas meter and pipe parts and fittings to be used for the repair, replacement, maintenance, and construction of the City's natural gas pipeline system, as well as support Long Beach Gas and Oil Department’s (LBGO) Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project that was authorized by the City Council on June 10, 2014. The various sizes of gas meter and pipe parts and fittings are required to support the meter work necessary for the safe and efficient delivery of natural gas to LBGO customers in Long Beach and Signal Hill and the AMI project.

The bid was advertised in the Press-Telegram on December 18, 2015, and 3,718 potential bidders specializing in gas meter and pipe parts and fittings were notified of the bid opportunity.
