TITLE
Recommendation to request City Attorney to prepare an amendment to the Long Beach Municipal Code Section 2.36.010 regarding the Economic Development Commission.
DISCUSSION
Long Beach Municipal Code Section 2.36.010 specifies the requirements for the membership, term, operating procedures and duties of the Economic Development Commission. However, this section is no longer consistent with current commission and City practices.
The intent of the proposed changes are to bring the Economic Development Commission terms, term limits and operating procedures in line with other non-charter commissions, remove references to programs that are no longer in operation, and update commissioner requirements to reflect current economic and civic interests in Long Beach.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact from this requested change.
