Recommendation to request that City Manager prepare a report with the Planning and Building Department on how to speed up and streamline the process for permitting of tenant improvements.
DISCUSSION
In order to ensure that the City of Long Beach is fostering and promoting building improvements, I would like to request a report on how permitting for tenant improvements can be sped up and more efficiently streamlined.
Local businesses are interested in quickly renovating property to meet their business needs.
Any stalling in the permitting process results in significant loss of revenue and momentum for the business.
Streamlining the permitting process for tenant improvements would help local businesses as they increase sales and services to support the thriving new development.
