Recommendation to receive and file report on the Federal Legislative trip to Washington, D.C.
DISCUSSION
From September 18-20, 2007, as Chair of the Federal Legislation Committee I traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of Congress and federal agencies on issues of importance to Long Beach. Topics of discussion included the Marine Vessel Emissions Reduction Act, Goods Movement issues, the C-17, Los Angeles River Dredging, Gang Intervention and Prevention Program, I-710 Early Action projects, Homeland Security, the Long Beach Breakwater, the Colorado Lagoon, the Los Cerritos Wetlands, and other issues.

Approve recommendation.
