TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay the sum of $12,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Mooshagian v. City of Long Beach, et al., Case No. NC039247.
DISCUSSION
This suit arises out of a City employee, driving a City vehicle during the course and scope of his employment, and rear-ending plaintiff's vehicle. Plaintiff sustained injuries, incurred medical expenses and claimed lost earnings.
During mediation, the parties were able to reach a tentative settlement agreement of $12,000.00, subject to City Council approval.
The Economic Development and Finance Committee approved the proposed settlement on September 18, 2007.
