TITLE

DISCUSSION
Since 1974, the City of Long Beach has been providing services at three geographically placed Facilities Centers located at: Central Facilities Center, 1133 Rhea Street, Long Beach, CA 90806; North Facilities Center, 6335 Myrtle Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90805;
and West Facilities Center, 2125 Santa Fe Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90810. Communitybased services have been provided by the below noted local non-profit agencies that occupy office space at these sites. In order to continue the relationship between the City and these agencies, a Facility Use Permit (Permit) is required. The Permit will be for an initial term of five years and extended at the end of the term upon a determination by the City that the permittee has fully complied with the terms and conditions of the Permit and is otherwise in good standing with the City.

Agencies utilizing space at the centers are required to be non-profit agencies, and they must address a critical need at the local level. Space is provided on a first come first serve basis, based upon availability. All agencies must meet City insurance requirements.

At the September 18, 2007 City Council meeting, Council approved facility use permits for the North and West Facilities Centers, with a request by Councilman Dee Andrews to carry over the permits for the Central Facilities Center to a future council meeting.
