TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on State Legislation Committee travel to Sacramento, CA.
DISCUSSION
As Chair of the State Legislation Committee, I traveled to Sacramento on Wednesday, March 7 for meetings with members of the State Legislature. Major issues discussed included bond implementation, funding for the new Long Beach Courthouse, pending air quality legislation, vocational education, and other items on the City's recently adopted 2007 State Legislative Agenda. Further discussion of these meetings will be reported to the full State Legislation Committee at the next scheduled meeting on March 27.
