DISCUSSION
I would like to take this opportunity to report to the City Council on the League of California Cities 2006 Annual Conference September 6-9 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA.

Some of the topics addressed during this Forum included :
Economic Development for Today and Tomorrow
Historic Preservation Ideas and Issues
Eminent Domain
Housing
Redevelopment
State Infrastructure

I also attended a symposium on ways that local officials can more effectively promote an understanding of the importance of the public sector.  All issues covered during this conference were of benefit to the City of Long Beach and will ensure that the needs of our city remain foremost with the League of California Cities.
