TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on attendance at the League of California Cities 2006 Annual Conference and Exposition in San Diego, CA and Long Beach, Mississippi trip.
DISCUSSION
On September 9-10, I attended the League of California Cities 2006 Annual Conference and Exposition in San Diego, California.
The League of California Cities is and association of California city officials . The conference is a chance to meet with leaders of other municipalities and discuss relevant issues . As a member of the Executive Board, I also provided direction to the organization, which advocates on behalf of local government .
On August 30 th -September 1 St, I traveled to Long Beach, Mississippi to present an aid check on behalf of the City of Long Beach and to learn about disaster preparedness. Long Beach, Mississippi suffered terribly during hurricane Katrina and the City of Long Beach has undertaken an effort to help them rebuild .
