TITLE

Recommendation to request City Attorney to prepare an amendment to the Long Beach Municipal Code Section 2.03.040 regarding Order of Business of the City Council.

DISCUSSION

Long Beach Municipal Code Section 2.03.040 specifies the Order of Business of all regular Council meetings. However, it is no longer consistent with current practice.

The intent of the proposed changes are to update the ordinance to more accurately reflect Council's process in Council meetings.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

Should Council adopt an amended ordinance in August 2014, the change will become effective on August 19, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact resulting from this requested change.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
