TITLE
Recommendation to request City Attorney to accept an easement deed for the widening of the sidewalk and the alley adjacent to
2923 East Anaheim Street.  (District 4)

DISCUSSION
It is the goal of the Department of Public Works to widen streets and alleys to the standards established in the City's General Plan. When significant new development is
proposed, the public rights-of-way adjacent to the site are reviewed for sufficiency to accommodate the new development. For the construction of a 5,400-square foot retail
building with a parking lot at 2923 East Anaheim Street, the dedications of additional rights-of-way are recommended as follows:

A sidewalk easement should be provided on Anaheim Street along the property frontage. This action will allow for widening to 10 feet, which is the recommended sidewalk width along a major pedestrian way.

The I0-foot wide alley should be widened on the south side by 5 feet, to a total width of 15 feet. The standard alley width of 20 feet will be achieved at this location when property on the north side of the alley is improved and a dedication for public alley purposes for an additional 5 feet is recorded.
