Chasse Company, Inc., relative to the extension of the term, to authorize additional services, if required, within the provisions of the agreements, and to adjust the fee schedule of hourly rates for inflation.

DISCUSSION

The City of Long Beach has many facilities of varying ages in need of waterproofing repairs. In order to properly identify facility needs for the Departments of Health and Human Services, Library Services, and Parks, Recreation and Marine, and the Civic Center Complex, it is recommended that the City enter into a three-year agreement with M.R. Chasse Company, Inc. (MRRCO). The scope of work includes site investigation, design, and construction for the remediation of water intrusion problems in facilities for the departments and areas noted above and to furnish warranties for repair work performed. Anticipated projects may include roofing repairs of main and branch library buildings, the main Health Department building, and the correction of water intrusion at City Hall lower level offices and parking areas. The intent of this agreement is to procure expert professional services for such work.

A Request for Proposal (RFP) process was conducted in accordance with Administrative Regulation 8-4, "Selecting Professional Consultants," to secure professional services. The RFP was posted on the City's website, proposals were received, and MRCCO was deemed the lowest responsible bidder.
