DISCUSSION
The street infrastructure on Redondo Avenue between 2nd Street and Anaheim Street is in need of rehabilitation. The rehabilitation work consists of replacing damaged curbs and gutters, driveways, alley entrances, sidewalks and the trimming or shaving of tree roots; reconstructing areas of deteriorated pavement; cold milling and resurfacing the pavement; modernizing the Broadway and Redondo Traffic Signal; and installing pavement markers, markings, traffic stripping, signing and curb paint. The project will also include concrete bulb-outs at three of the four corners of the Broadway and Redondo intersection, as well as an enhanced concrete crosswalk. This project was advertised in the Press-Telegram on October 4, 2013, and 2,443 potential bidders specializing in construction were notified of the bid opportunity. Of those bidders, 83 sets of bid documents were purchased or downloaded via our electronic bid system.
