DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into annual contracts with Danny Jones Auto Painting, Eddy’s Auto Body & Paint, and Truk Pros, Inc., to provide vehicular body, frame and refinishing repairs to support the Department of Financial Management’s, Fleet Services Bureau, as well as the Water and Harbor Department’s. The City enters into multiple contracts to ensure continuity, as well as specialty of services. Danny Jones Painting and Eddy’s Auto Body & Paint will provide auto body services on light and medium weight vehicles. Truk Pros, Inc., will provide auto body services to heavy weight vehicles. Based on expenditures for the past two years, the proposed contracts are estimated not to exceed the combined annual amount of $360,000.

The Fleet Services Bureau is responsible for contract management of all auto and truck body repairs. These repairs include surface repair or part replacement, specific area or complete unit repainting, frame repair, glass replacement, and suspension repairs. The work is completed in a timely manner to ensure the departments have as little down time as possible.
