DISCUSSION
The City of Long Beach is in the process of reconfiguring the intersection where 20th Street meets Walnut Avenue and Alamitos Avenue, in order to improve the safety of students that attend nearby schools. The street reconfiguration will require relocation of Southern California Edison poles and installation of overhead electrical supply and communications systems, as well as the dedication of approximately 1,673 square feet of City property located at the northeast corner of Walnut Avenue and Alamitos Avenue, as shown on Exhibit A, and approximately 90 square feet of City property at the southwest corner of 20th Street and Alamitos Avenue, as shown on Exhibit B.

In addition, in order to relocate poles and wires, it is necessary to grant to Southern California Edison a 10-foot wide easement for overhead electrical supply and communication systems at the intersections of Walnut Avenue, 20th Street, and Alamitos Avenue, as shown on Exhibit C, and a 10-foot wide easement for overhead electrical supply and communications systems on the southwest corner of 20th Street and Alamitos Avenue, as shown on Exhibit D.

In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Categorical Exemption No. CE 132-11 was issued for this project.
