TITLE
Recommendation to adopt the following resolutions:
 
1.  Resolution giving notice of: [a] a Special Municipal Election to be held in the City of Long Beach Tuesday, the 6th day of November, 2012 for the purpose of submitting a ballot proposition to a vote of the qualified electors of the City; and [b] the Exhibit Ordinance;
 
DISCUSSION
On May 22, 2012, the City Council voted to submit the proposed initiative ordinance, without alteration, for a vote of the electorate on November 6, 20120.
 
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
Adoption of the suggested action will facilitate the timely filing of the proposed initiative ordinance with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder County Clerk.
 
At a later date, the Office of the Mayor will docket an agenda item for the appointment of argument writers as required by the Long Beach Municipal Code.
 
FISCAL IMPACT
The estimated cost to consolidate the foregoing measures on the Statewide General Election ballot is $432,000.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LONG BEACH ORDERING, CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR AN GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF LONG BEACH ON TUESDAY, THE 6TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2012, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING A BALLOT PROPOSITION TO A VOTE OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY.
