TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file the quarterly reports of cash and investments for the quarters ending December 31, 2006, March 31, 2007, June 30, 2007 and September 30, 2007.
DISCUSSION
Pursuant to Section 803 of the City Charter, the Office of the City Auditor is charged with verifying cash in the City Treasury on a quarterly basis and providing a written report to the City Council. Attached are the Quarterly Reports of Cash and Investments for the quarters ending December 31,2006, March 31, 2007, June 30, 2007 and September 30,2007.
Upon taking office in July 2006, it was brought to my attention that the Quarterly Reports of Cash and Investments were delinquent. Our ('ffice has been working diligently to comply with the City Charter, and going forward we are committed to issuing these reports on a quarterly basis.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action is requested on May 13, 2008.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact.
