TITLE

Recommendation to request City Attorney to prepare an ordinance changing the membership of the Airport Advisory Commission to have one member appointed from each Council District.

DISCUSSION

The Airport Advisory Commission is responsible for consulting with and advising

the city council in formulating city policies regarding the development and

operation of the Long Beach municipal airport.

There are currently nine members of the Airport Advisory Commission, with the

only residency requirement that they live within the city at all times during their

service on the advisory body.

In the interest of ensuring a citywide representation on the Commission, I

propose that there be a commissioner appointed from each council district.
