TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $450, offset by the First Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to the Long Beach Camerata Singers 2021 Gala, which will take place on October 6, 2021; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $450 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
The Long Beach Camerata Singers (LBCS) was founded in 1966 and has since brought so many choral music performances to Long Beach. LBCS is led by the 2021 Grammy award winner for Best Coral Performance, James K. Bass. During the pandemic, Bass led LBCS in providing music to our communities in outdoor settings and is now ready to announce their Return to the Stage Gala. The Gala will take place on October 6, 2021. It offers an opportunity for our Long Beach community to celebrate music after many months of being indoors and lacking live community performances.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
The 2021 Gala is taking place on October 6, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to the Long Beach Camerata Singers 2021 Gala. The total appropriation increase of $450 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the First Council District One-Time Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.
Respectfully Submitted,
MARY ZENDEJAS COUNCILWOMAN,
