TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $12,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Tondra Cooper v. Long Beach, et.al., Case No. CV04-9367MMM (RCx).
DISCUSSION
This lawsuit arises out of traffic stop and search on November 16,2003 by a
recruit officer while under the observation of his field training officer. The
appropriateness of the search conducted by the trainee was at issue.
Through negotiations between counsel, a tentative settlement of $12,000.00 was
reached, subject to City Council approval.
