Patient Protection Act and Affordable Care Act
 
The Patient Protection Act and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is reforming healthcare in America, though its most significant provisions, such as the employer mandate, the individual mandate, and health exchanges, that become effective January 1, 2014.
 
The countdown is on. The City of Long Beach as an employer and public health provider will be impacted. Businesses and individuals in our City will be affected. That's why it is important to hear firsthand about the ACA and its impact.
 
April 15th Town Hall Meeting - Featuring State Insurance Commissioner Dave lones and US HHS Region IX Director Herb K. Schultz
 
The public is invited to attend a free town hall on "The Impact of the Affordable Care Act on Long Beach" hosted by Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, CSULB Department of Health Care Administration and Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske. Two dynamic, informative speakers will address the impacts of this new law on California and the City of Long Beach: State Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Region IX Director, Herb K. Schultz.
 
The town hall will be held at Houssel's Forum at Long Beach Memorial, 2810 Atlantic Avenue. The meeting begins at 5 pm. Parking is free.
