TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file a presentation regarding Long Beach Transit's relationship with the City and steps taken to address recent challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
On June 9, 2020, City requested the City Manager to work with Long Beach Transit to schedule a presentation regarding Long Beach Transit's relationship with the City and its vital role in the City's public transportation system, including transit service to residents and workers, its critical role in providing mobility for students, seniors and people with disabilities, programs to ensure the safety and security of riders and employees, decision-process on transit routes, stops and shelters, and steps taken to address recent challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
This matter was reviewed by Principal Deputy City Attorney Gary J. Anderson and by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on July 2, 2020.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action is requested on July 14, 2020.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal or local job impact associated with this recommendation. This recommendation has no staffing impact beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is consistent with existing City Council priorities.
